I LOVE goals! Growing up, I would have my list of goals taped to my closet door. It kept me focused and it was a daily reminder of what i wanted to accomplish. I have come across several blogs that have been listing their goals each month. The start of school signifies a fresh start and next month I will come up with my "New Years Resolutions" Why wait until Jan 1st??!! But, until then, here are my August Goals:
1. Read the Gospels 15 minutes each day. We recently went and heard Matthew Kelly speak down in Appleton and he challenged us to commit to at least one game changer (daily Gospel reading, confession once a month, and/or a mass journal). I already do the mass journal, so this month I am going to add Gospel reading.
2. 2 blog posts a week. I deactivated my Facebook (upcoming post on that). So, I want to committ to catching up the blog and doing a better job of maintaining it.
3. Follow Hal Higdon's Novice 2 Half Marathon Training Program. My overall goal is to maintain half marathon running shape, but with the Fall 50 Relay coming up, my training plan starts on Monday! I am running a 50 mile relay with 4 other of my women dentist friends. We are going to be the DDS (Dental Diva Sprinters)….for those of you who don't know DDS is the name of our dental degree.
4. Finish 40 Bags in 40 Days. Nothing else needs to be said. I am getting to the point where the places I had organized back with Lent first started are in need of more organization. ARRRGGG!
5. Finish our Summer Fun Wish List. We are doing a pretty good job, but I really want to have each of these checked off before the kids start school. I like the drop of mint chocolate chip ice cream by "Make Ice Cream Sundaes".
